This is a colaborative photo Naomi and I took. This beautiful loom beaded piece Naomi is making will become a bracelet, and the instructions for how to make it will be in this month’s Bead Society newsletter. Naomi wanted a photo for the cover of the newsletter. Naomi set up the loom and beads, I set up the camera and found the correct light and camera settings and Naomi chose the final composition and took the shot.

Wonderful !! I LOVE it

Nice composition and lighting.
However, it makes me wonder what the loom looks like…as I’ve never seen a beading loom, and your photo only shows part of the loom.
Naomi
Thanks!! In regards to the loom and what it looks like. If you look at the top right corner of the loom, then the other corners are the same (symmetrical).
The composition of the image is like this because I needed to leave room for the large heading and text for the cover of the newsletter.
Cheers

Hi Marie
Yes, I should still have the instructions. I will try to email you the pdf for it soon. In regard to looming, the key is to get a nice sturdy one. Many of the shop bought ones are flimsy but you can easily get someone to make a nice wooden one.
I would also recommend joining a beading group to learn techniques. I learned how to bead on a loom by attending a class, and I picked it up straight away. I find it easier than following instructions in books. If you live in Australia, you might like to join the Bead Society of Victoria – http://beadsociety.com.au
Good luck with the project!
