I’ve just added a new footer to the blog. I’ve had this in mind for a while, and finally lets me put a few things on the blog pages that I needed to, and in a neat and tidy way. I’m especially pleased to be able to link to some of my online friends, and useful photography resources.
The footer is made of four parts, described below:
On the left, “Participate in the Community” is a plug for the blog’s Flickr group, something which didn’t really appear in the design before. Links here go to the group, the pool and the discussion, and feature thumbnails linking to the four most recent photos submitted to the group pool. Hopefully this will bring even more members to the group.
I’ve been wanting to link to my favourite photography sites for a long time, but I could never find a place to put them all without taking up too much space. They fit nicely in the footer however! Thank you to everyone I have linked to! You have either been a very useful source of information and education to me, or are a good friend I want to help succeed online. Please make sure you visit all of these pages, and if you like what you see there, subscribe to their news feeds!
There’s so many social networks around these days, and you getthe most out of them when you’re well connected. So here are some of the networks I’m most active on. If you are a member of any of these, please connect with me. If you’re not using any of them, consider joining in. It’s a lot of fun :)
Finally, here’s a little bit about your host, me! I think it’s important to put a face to a name – at least it is for me, I’m terrible with names :) If you want to know about the person behind the posts, this is me.

I just loved the new footer!!! It’s a pretty good idea to put everything together and those informations are really important, so they have to be available.
About the face, I completely agree with you, I always put my photo on blogs and where I write cause readers can see we are “real people” too. =)

Yeah, Neil, brilliant footer redesign. It inspires me to add some functionality spice to my own. Well done in every way.

Nice footer layout.
Often it can be a bit of a struggle to try to fit all the required info above/around/below a blog, but you’ve done it neatly, and managed to fit a lot of useful info into the footer.

Love the new footer Neil and when I studies it further noticed you popped my blog ‘An Aussie Affair’ on it too. I was altogether elated, excited and yet horrified as I have only just set it up and learning the how it all works … so this week I have endeavoured to work on it.
It’s amazing how when you think no-one is looking you tend to be a bit lax and not pay attention. Well you caught my attention to my own blog and now I’ve been frantically trying to make it viewer worthy. It still isn’t right and how I would like it but being a newbie to html and all the technical jargon I think I’m getting the hang of it now. Any advice if you happen to pop over there sometime would be enormously appreciated. My head is spinning .. lol

Thanks for the comments folks :) Anc Chrissy, your blog is there because you have been such an enthusiastic supporter of my blog. I thought it was only fair to return the favour!

hello,I like when people are paying attention to details like you did with new footer. I just posted about standalone footers with list of favorites. Salut!
