Photoshoot with Nathan G – P365 Mar21

Did a portrait shoot this afternoon with my brother-in-law, Nathan G. Working with the crosslighting techniques I first tried with Leif a few weeks back, I was looking for a contrasty, hard-lit look. I also busted out my old kit lens for the first time in ages, to get the extra wide-angle 18mm focal length. My “walkaround” lens only goes as wide as 24mm. Those few extra mm can make a big difference in the resulting photo.

  1. Nice photos. Would love to have seen the setup of your lighting as some of the shadows threw me off and made it hard for me to reverse engineer the light like I thought it would be. [now that is a run on sentence!]

  2. Thanks for the question Patrick. I’ve added some lighting info to the post. Sorry for leaving it out!
