The second night of the workshop I stayed up late to watch the moon rise. The colours were spectacular as the waning crescent moon illuminated the misty waters of Lake Eppalock.

The Milky Way rises early in the winter evening in front of a gum tree lit by dim house lights. This photo was taken on the first night of the Night Sky Photo Workshop. A simple photo, it only required a tripod and an exposure of:
