2010 was a very busy year, and as a result the blog unfortunately suffered, but I can’t miss my tradition of choosing my favourite ten photos for the year gone. I tried a lot of new things this year, and spent most of my time photographing people. We didn’t get many opportunities to travel, so there are fewer nature photos, but I think my portrait work has improved. I have also started experimenting with more elaborate people shoots, as well as starting a journey of exploration into the world of artistic nude photography. (Don’t worry, there are no NSFW photos in this post!)

My first year as a full time professional photographer, 2009 started off slow professionally, but that quickly grew over the months, convincing me that I made the right choice. I think I am able to see an improvement in my photographic skill throughout the year, which makes me happy, but I think I’m also enjoying it more. I bought a lot of new equipment this year, including a new professional-grade camera (the Canon 5D MkII) and studio lights.
In the annual tradition, I have collected what I consider to be my “top 10” photos for 2009. This doesn’t necessarily mean my best, or most beautiful, but the 10 photos I feel best show what the year was about, and which I think best represent my work in 2009. They are presented here in chronological order, I hope you enjoy them.

Just in the nick of time, and with a huge amount of help from my abundantly talented wife Naomi, I have completed and published my first e-book “A Roadtrip Through Southeast Australia”. This was done as part of the Solo Photo Book Month project, or SoFoBoMo.
Please download and enjoy the book by clicking on the cover below:
I couldn’t have done this book without the moral and creative support of Naomi. She is responsible for laying out the book and creating the PDF that you see above. She really made my photos look so professional, and easy to browse. Through her hard work, the book looks much better than I could have done by myself, so I want to express my deep gratitude.
I hope you all enjoy my first e-book! If you have participated in the SoFoBoMo project, please send a link to your book and I’ll promote it here for you :)
