These are some more items from my father's mineralogy collection. From the top they are: amethyst crystals as they have grown  naturally inside a geode; a close-up photo of the amethyst crystsls; green olivine crystals which have grown within a volcanic basalt geode; and finally a piece of fossilised wood, cut and polished by my father into a cabochon.
