I’m a big fan of Brian Auer and his awesome photography blog, Epic Edits. If you’re a photographer and you haven’t subscribed to the feed. Do so now, you won’t regret it.
One of the things I love about Epic Edits is the projects that can be found there every month or so. If you follow my blog, you may remember Brian’s last project, and my entry. This time around, Brian has joined forces with fellow photo blogger Martin Gommel for the “Shoot Yourself” project.
Essentially, the goal of the project is to form stronger links between the online photography community, by getting to know each other – and our faces – better. To contribute, one must take a self-portrait, and include your camera in the photo. Here’s my submission:
Flickr Tag Error: Call to display photo '2108153791' failed.
I know I said recently that I’d lay off the self-portraits for a while, but this is a special occasion :)
Anyway, being me, I wanted to do something a little different, and stand out from the crowd a bit. Usually, that means the fisheye :) Also, the nature of the project pretty much means using a mirror, so combining the two resulted in my submission!
If you’re a photographer with a blog or a Flickr (or similar) gallery, I encourage you to get on board and join in the fun! It’s easy to do, and you’ll get some great promotion for your work, as Brian will be linking to every photographers preferred page. The deadline is January 6th. The full details can be seen here on Brian’s blog.
So go on, do it. Shoot yourself ;)
(Disclaimer: Use a camera – duh)

I love it man, the fisheye was an awesome idea! You look totally different in this shot from the other ones I’ve seen.

Haha. Nice to “see” you Neil. I just recently discovered your blog so I must have missed all your other self portraits.
