Update and a photo
Hi folks, just a quick update on the current situation, and to keep the blog vaguely photo-related, an picture from my archive :)
Naomi was admitted to hospital on Tuesday, and in the two days since has been shuffled around a lot, into no less than four different locations throughout the hospital, due to the drastic shortage of beds. She’s slowly improving and is able to rest without pain. She experiences pain when she tries to weight-bear on her right leg, but that’s slowly reducing. She’s had a barrage of tests, including bloods, x-ray and ultrasound. The good news is that the worst of the possible causes, including infection, have been eliminated for the most part.
This morning she is having a nuclear medicine bone scan, a test that she has been waiting a day to be given. It is hoped that this will give a clear picture of the hip to show if there is any problem with her prosthetic joint. I believe she is having the test as I write this.
I’ll be heading in shortly to keep her company for the rest of the day. I took a print-out of the comments on the previous post to her, which she enjoyed reading. She appreciates everyones’ well-wishes, so thank you for the kind words!
The photo below was taken by Naomi on our driving holiday through Western Australia in 2005. We were there in the middle of the wildflower season and the scenery was spectacular with deep blue skies, rust red soil and vivid bright flowers everywhere we looked.
