Blue sea necklace – P365 Feb12

In each issue of Connect, the Bead Society of Victoria’s quarterly magazine, they feature a member’s bead challenge. This time the them was “Seaside”. This detailed necklace which was made by Carmel Manley was voted most favourite by fellow bead members.

Beaded Letters for Sign – P365 Jan23

You may remember that last year Naomi was working on a beautiful, detailed bead embroidered letter “E” to be used in a sign for the Bead Society. Ten other members of the bead society also embroidered letters for the sign. They all came together for the first time at the Bead Expo.

This week Naomi was able to bring the letters all home so that I could photograph them for the BSV’s newsletter. I took a single photograph of each, and you can see them here below. I actually plan to go back and re-photograph them in super high detail as a macro panorama as I have done in the past. I’ll probably post about that when I’m done.

Beaded Mahjong Coaster – P365 Jan21

Sorry about the lack of updates lately, I’ve had a very busy weekend (as you’ll see in photos soon) and a couple of big jobs on at the moment that are keeping me very busy. Anyway – on with P365!

This is a beautiful beaded piece made by a member of the Bead Society of Victoria, which I photographed for Naomi for the upcoming BSV newsletter. It is actually designed as a drink coaster and features a mahjong tile. The owner made it to take along to use at the mahjong games she plays with her friends.

If it were me, I’d feel reluctant to use such a beautiful piece for such a hard-wearing job.

Beaded Cornish Shield – P365 Jan19

Along with the Saint Piran’s Flag pendant, which I showed you last week, Naomi has also made this pendant of the Cornish shield, the herald of the Duke of Cornwall. I personally like this one better, for the shape and the cool heraldric design.

Beaded Flag of Cornwall – P365 Jan15

Naomi made this beaded pendant of Saint Piran’s Flag, the flag of Cornwall, for her folks. They are members of the Cornish Association of Queensland, and apparently there is considerable interest from members in aquiring this kind of jewellery. Naomi is hoping that she may be able to help meet this desire.

The pendant has been photographed as it would be worn. The flag, when flown, naturally appears rotated counter-clockwise ninety degrees.
